A big welcome to Neil – on Keyboards

Well, he’s already been with us for months and even played our last corporate Christmas party gig with us and therefore appears in many videos already posted. But he’s so far refused to have any photos taken of him – much like Basil who believes his soul will be trapped forever in the picture… Anyway, after I threatened to post a picture of the giant moose that hangs on Nick’s wall and say that this was Neil… …he co-operated. Welcome Neil!
I think he’s getting used to the wacky sense of humour that goes on around here.

AUDIO page added

Just spent the whole day editing and uploading a bunch of songs for the new AUDIO page and it’s been a blast!

We’ve been experimenting by trial and error for nearly a year, making recordings of every rehearsal – placement of the recording device, volume levels, etc. and finally made some real progress a couple of months ago.  So today I went through hours of recordings, both live and in our rehearsal space – also experimenting with various tweaks in the editing software, and came up with about 20 songs I thought were half-decent.  They are far from perfect studio recordings and are still just basic demos, but…    Then I spent the last hour or so listening to them, straight from the all new   AUDIO page, and y’know what?  I’m pretty proud of this band!  Feedback is welcome.

The party was a success!

Our gig with the Imperial Coffee holiday party went well.  Not as many bodies on the dance floor as usual, but we received MANY comments about how much we were enjoyed.  Apparently some video was shot (before our intrepid videographer’s battery died) so hopefully some of it turned out well enough to post later – maybe some pics too.  We were invited to partake in the nice buffet, though since Nick and Mike both work for Imperial I guess they had to…   So Basil and Michael took full advantage of the situation and stacked up their plates with a much appreciated pre-show meal.  Thank you!

Welcome to Backspin’s website

It will be a short while before this begins to look like a proper website.  But if you have intentionally found your way to this site, no doubt you have the band’s existing contact info – so if you want to reach us, go ahead and dial the number you have, or mail to the email address you have.  We look forward to bringing you a shiny new website soon!

UPDATE:  The contact page is now working – you can contact the band using that, or continue to use any phone number or email address you may already have.
